We used our i-pads to research Vincent Van Gogh and created our own version of his 'starry night' using oil pastels and a paint wash.
Don't forget to share your ideas for improving our Arts provision (music, art, dance, drama) with your class representatives. What would you like to see more of in our school? We will be meeting this Thursday to discuss your thoughts.
ARTS FORUM MEMBERS Class 2: Mackenzie P and Molly . Class 3: Bethany and Tyler. Class 4: Bradley and Shannon. Class 5: Ella B and Natalie. Class 6: Nathaniel and John. Children used some of their favourite books as inspiration for these wonderful drawings. What do you think of our drawing skills? We had a lovely assembly this Tuesday where children displayed their wonderfully energetic dancing skills. Children showcased the dances they have been learning with Mrs. Callan at our lunch time dance club. A special thank you must also be given to the Class 6 girls who have helped to inspire the younger children while learning these fantastic routines!
We have had amazing entries to our Easter egg competition this year. Mr. Nodding thought this may have been the best year yet! Some of the teachers were even turned into eggs! Can you spot them? Let us know which is your favourite. Well done to all children who took part, we were so impressed with your creativity! Class 5 have been working hard all year learning how to play the guitar. Their teachers Mr. Wade and Mrs. Spanswick were so proud to hear them play (and sing) a variety of songs including Katy Perry's 'Roar' in our school concert. Well done to all who took part! Take a look at the wonderful displays created by each class during our Chinese New Year Arts week! Here are the last of a beautiful array of Chinese New Year horses that have been entered into our school competition! I think you will all agree that we have some very talented artists in our school. Well done to everyone who entered! The winners will be announced in assembly on Monday!
Classes 2 and 3 have had an amazing trip to the Oriental Museum in Durham. Children tried on costumes and retold the story of the Zodiac. They created beautiful collage horses and decorated lovely lanterns. They went on an animal hunt in the gallery and danced around the museum as dragons. What a fantastic educational visit!
